Accepted Recyclables
Materials currently required to be recycled and accepted at the Recycling Center include:
- All Office Paper (Except Blue or Black Carbon)
- All Plastics Numbered 1,2 & 5 Are Accepted
- Aluminum Cans
- Auto/Truck Tires
- Branches
- Catalogs and Junk Mail
- Corrugated Cardboard
- Electronic Waste ( see list of accepted items below)
- Glass Bottles and Jars
- Grass
- Mixed Garden Debris
- Newspapers and Magazines
- Plastic Beverage Containers
- Scrap Metal (No White Goods)
- Telephone Books

Electronic Waste
We now pick up electronic waste curbside for all seniors or for all residents if an item weighs over one hundred pounds. Please call Borough Hall at 201-825-3400 and schedule a pick-up. The Department of Public Works (DPW) will pick up curbside on Mondays, weather permitting.
Electronic waste must be recycled; it's the law. Please see list below of electronics which are accepted at to the Recycling Center. Our vendor assures us they destroy all hard drives. If you have concern about your information, remove the hard drive yourself and hit it with a hammer.

Old Tires
Old tires will now be accepted at the Recycling Center dumpster during regular business hours. Please note that motor oil and auto batteries are not accepted at the Recycling Center.
Cardboard
Please recycle all cardboard. Cardboard is not garbage. You should put your flattened cardboard out with your newspapers on your recycling day or bring them to the Recycling Center.
Books
Recycle your paperbacks curbside or use the paper dumpster at the Recycling Center. The covers must be removed from hardcover books and placed in the garbage. Please remember that the Friends of the Ramsey Library sponsor book sales throughout the year.
Clothing
There are 3 Goodwill containers at the Recycling Center for clothing and other textiles. Textiles include old clothing, old bedding, and usable old shoes. Goodwill puts 100% of any donations to good and charitable use.
