Ramsey Recreation offers a wide variety of programs for all ages as well as many seasonally themed special events. Sports programs for children include bowling, basketball, lacrosse, and wrestling. A volleyball clinic for girls in grades six through eight was added in 2013 and is expanded to fourth and fifth graders in 2016. Adults may participate in ping pong, soccer, and men's and women's softball. Throughout the year, recreation offerings include foul shooting contests for boys and girls, the Easter egg hunt, Home Run Derby, and the Halloween parade and costume contest. Movie events are scheduled at Finch Park during the summer. Snow tubing at Campgaw in Mahwah, a new undertaking in 2012, provides an enjoyable winter activity for the one hundred fifty participants. The annual Jack McKeown Ramsey Run (both 5K and 10K races) continues to attract hundreds of racers. The yearly Dog Show is always a crowd favorite. Summer camp at Finch Park provided activities for over four hundred young campers in 2015. Please note that refunds will not be issued as per borough policy. All checks should be made payable to the Borough of Ramsey. Participants must pay for their inclusion in all recreation activities for which a fee is due. Monthly meetings of the Recreation Commission are open to all residents and suggestions for new activities and programs are always welcome.
