Plastic
Please view the
Plastic Recyclables page for additional information.
Electronic Waste
We now pick up electronic waste curbside for all seniors or for all
residents if an item weighs over one hundred pounds. Please call Borough
Hall at 201-825-3400 and schedule a pick-up. The Department of Public
Works (DPW) will pick up curbside on Mondays, weather permitting.
Electronic waste must be recycled; it's the law. Please bring all
electronics to the Recycling Center. Our vendor assures us they destroy
all hard drives. If you have concern about your information, remove the
hard drive yourself and hit it with a hammer.
Old Tires
Old tires will now be accepted at the Recycling Center dumpster during
regular business hours. Please note that motor oil and auto batteries
are not accepted at the Recycling Center.
Cardboard
Please recycle all cardboard. Cardboard is
not garbage.
You should put your flattened cardboard out with your newspapers on
your recycling day or bring them to the Recycling Center.
Books
Recycle your paperbacks curbside or use the paper dumpster at the
Recycling Center. The covers must be removed from hardcover books and
placed in the garbage. Please remember that the Friends of the Ramsey
Library sponsor book sales throughout the year.
Clothing
There are 3 Goodwill containers at the Recycling Center for clothing and
other textiles. Textiles include old clothing, old bedding, and usable
old shoes. Goodwill puts 100% of any donations to good and charitable
use.
